Sideshow Collectibles Previews Upcoming San Diego Comic-Con Display Statues
By Caleb Goellner
In anticipation of its San Diego Comic-Con International displays, Sideshow Collectibles is teasing looks at a few of its upcoming Marvel products across several scales. A new Galactus Maquette, Hawkeye Premium Format Figure and Doctor Doom Legendary Scale Figure will all be on hand at the convention come July 12-15, giving collectors a chance to take in Sideshow’s latest wares in person. Rooted principally in classic comic book designs, Galactus, Hawkeye and Doom all appear to sport a few details from more modern incarnations as well — especially Galactus, who bears all kinds of cosmic costume-y tech from the back. As a Legendary Scale release, this Doom teaser image shows but a fraction of what the final piece will look like, but the early production sketch behind Doom’s faceplates and hand sculpt indicates the eternal enemy of Reed Richards will stand pretty tall when all is said and done. Pricing info and proper release dates can be expected closer to SDCC itself, but you can inspect Sideshow’s teaser images more closely after the cut in the interim.
